Patsy is a single mum bringing up 3 teenage children. If that isn’t enough, Patsy has also been studying for a degree and on top of all this had to move out of a furnished property into one that was unfurnished. This left Patsy with very little in the way of white goods. She had to buy a number of large essential items but could not afford everything she needed all in one go. The Hope Project agreed to purchase a washing machine to help out which also removed the need for countless
journeys to the laundrette. Patsy has now finished studying and awaiting for her results. Good luck Patsy!!
The Hope Project was proud to be selected as a finalist for a second year in a row in the Cornishman’s Community Cashback competition. The Hope Project was awarded £500 to continue work in the Penzance area. A BIG thank you to all who voted and a big thank you to Shekinah Christian Church for matching the £500.

This is Dave who came to the Hope Project for help after suffering from an accident on a construction site. Dave was unable to work due to injuries for quite a long time and found himself having to sleep in his car. When the Hope Project met Dave he had just moved into a flat but was in desperate need of some essential household items. The Hope Project was pleased to be able to provide a brand new fridge freezer for Dave which made life and food shopping a lot easier for him.
In 2014, the Hope Project met Richard, a single dad of four, yes four!!! He also has 2 dogs, 2 cats, a rabbit and several goldfish!! So, needless to say his house gets covered in rather a lot of animal hair! His previous hoover couldn’t take the pressure any more and had given up on life. The Hope Project was able to buy Richard a hoover especially designed to cope with pet hair. Supporting a large family on your own is not easy and as you can see Richard was very grateful and pleased with his new toy!
The Hope Project was selected as 2014 finalists for the Cornishman’s Community Cashback competition. The newspaper worked with Devon and Cornwall
Police to distribute the funds made available through the Proceeds of Crime Act. Over 30 organisations from across West Cornwall applied to join the scheme
outlining how they would use the money. Amongst other great projects in the area, The Hope Project was awarded with £650 to continue work in the Penzance
area. A BIG thank you to all who voted!
Vicky was referred to the Hope Project in 2014 by Social Services after being relocated to an unfurnished property. The Hope Project was pleased to be able to purchase for Vicky some brand new bedroom furniture to help with storage in her new home. Two strapping Hope Project volunteers were even provided to assemble the new cupboards!!
